The Montréal
2006 sports programme will be an exciting display
of athletic achievement, catering to all levels
of ability. Competitions will be spread over seven
days, making extensive use of the world-class
athletic facilities originally built for the Montréal
XXIst Olympiad in 1976 and exceptionally
well maintained ever since. Approximately 16,000
participants from around the world will display
their skills in 35 sports.
"Before I became involved, I had no idea what the GLTB Games are; but when I learned the values of Participation and Celebration,
Respect and Fairness, Innovation, Diversity and Empowerment, I had to be a part of it. In Montréal in 2006, the values of these Games will be brought to life by a city that is famous for its world-class
events, the celebration of diversity among its people, and the pursuit of individual excellence."
