Table Tennis competitions will welcome a maximum
of 170 participants and will be separated
into three divisions: Competitive, Recreational
and Veteran. Competitions will be held
over three days at Cégep André Grasset.
The Competitive division will be separated
into three grades.
Sunday 30 July 2006
Monday 31 July 2006
Tuesday 1st August 2006
The event will be sanctioned by the Quebec
Table Tennis Federation (QTTF).
International
Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) rules will
be used.
There are no affiliation or membership requirements
for this sport.
The Table Tennis tournament will offer competitive
and recreational levels, divided into four categories
within which participants may register for Singles,
Doubles and Mixed Doubles:
1. Competitive (consisting of three grades)
2. Recreational
3. Veteran
4. Team
In the Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles divisions,
there will be a preliminary and final round. Participants
are guaranteed to play a minimum of three matches.
1. The preliminary round will
be played in pools in a round robin format where
each team plays every other team within the
same pool. The winners of each pool advance
to the final round, depending upon the number
of participants in each division. All competitions
will be best-of-5 series to 11 points.
2. The final round
will be held in a single elimination, knock-out
format. All competitions will be best-of-5
series to 11 points. However, we will do
best-of-7 series for the semi-finals and
finals only in the A competition division.
