Synchronised Swimming competitions will welcome
a maximum of 130 participants in many divisions:
Solo, Duo, Trio and Teams of four to eight members.
Swimmers will be divided into age categories.
Sunday 30 July until Wednesday 2 August 2006
Competitions will be sanctioned by the Fédération
québécoise de nage synchronisée, which
is a member of Fédération
Internationale de Natation (FINA).
FINA rules,
Masters section, will be used, with the following
exceptions:
According to FINA rules, participants’
ages are determined by their age on 31
December 2006. To register for the Outgames,
however, participants must be at least 18 years
of age on 30 July 2006.
Both men and women are welcome to
register.
All participants must belong
to a club that is affiliated with a FINA member
federation. Participants may purchase an affiliation
from the Fédération
québécoise de nage synchronisée before
the practices for a fee of $15 CAD. Participants
thus affiliated will be considered a “club”
in the rules that follow.
There will be four divisions offered:
• Solo
• Duo
• Trio
• Team (4 to 8 members)
Each participant will have to
present two choreographies in each division for
which they have registered: one for the Technical
Routine programme (1 minute 30 seconds) and one
for the Free Routine programme, the length of
which will change according to division.
The divisions are as follows:
|
Division |
Length of
Free Routine |
 |
Solo |
3 minutes |
 |
Duo |
3 minutes 30 seconds |
 |
Trio |
2 minutes 30 seconds |
 |
Team (4 to 8 people) |
4 minutes |
The Technical Routine programme
will be 1 minute 30 seconds for all participants.
A warm-up period will be included
based on the competition schedule and will be
announced during the meeting with clubs and coaches.
Practices without music are also planned. Participating
clubs will be assigned fixed practice periods
and must share the pool with other clubs. More
information on this subject will be posted when
the final competition schedule has been established
or, at the latest, at the meeting with clubs and
coaches.
Technical information
The competitions
will be held in the diving pool.
Routines will begin under the diving
towers from a platform covering almost the entire
width of the pool. Participants wishing to commence
their routines in the water may do so by informing
the referee during the practices before the competition
or during the meeting with clubs and coaches.
Spectators will be situated
to the left of participants (and the diving towers)
when they enter the diving pool. The judges will
be seated to the left and the right of participants
during their entry into the water.
Age groups for the Duo, Trio and Team divisions
will be determined by the average age of the team
members.
