Montréal has an active, dynamic and highly diversified Leather community; it is these Montréal traits that have made this community so appreciated around the world! The 1st World Outgames Montréal 2006 is proud to welcome men and women of leather from around the globe for a celebration rich in experience. Recognising the importance of the leather culture as an integral part of the LGBT community, the Outgames will present a line-up of activities especially dedicated to this community as part of its overall sport and culture programme. The leather programme includes a competition with gold, silver and bronze medals for winners of the categories of Mr. Leather, Ms Leather and Slave; the competition is followed by a leather night with DJ and shows by MIDORI, MC
Faucon and Légende Urbaine. All participants who are registered for the Leather programme of the Outgames will participate in the Opening and the Closing Ceremonies of the games; moreover, they also have access to the Bear Night and are officially invited to join the Leather | Bears BBQ.
In addition to offering a number of complementary activities, organised by the local Montréal Leather groups, a leather only zone has been integrated into the Official Closing Party of the games, being held at the Palais des congrès on 4 August 2006.

Winner of the Mr. Leather Montréal 2006 title, Bohdan "Bo" Ladashevska is now acting as ambassador for the gay, leather and fetish community of Montréal. His role as a spokesperson for the 1st World Outgames Leather Programme will be to promote the Outgames and welcome the leather and fetish community from around the world to Montréal during the games. This is a role Bo takes seriously. Last November he was in Cologne, Germany, to promote the 1st World Outgames, and the Bear and Leather Programmes. More recently, in January, he represented Montréal at the ever-popular Mr. Mid-Atlantic Leather meeting in Washington, D.C. The numerous contacts he has accumulated are, in his opinion, only the beginning of his passion to keep Montréal on the circuit of major gay, leather and fetish events in North America. Chosen as Mr. Fuel 2004-2005, Bo is currently working towards his goal by encouraging various groups to connect, thereby giving the leather, bear and fetish communities of Montréal a new effervescence, by bringing young and old alike from around the world for exciting activities. Bohdan has been an active participant in the leather community for the past 20 years. Montréal 2006 is both proud and honoured to have Bo at the head of its Leather Programme.
« What sets these games apart is their recognition of the importance of Leather and Bears as an integral part of the LGBT community and culture. I welcome the honour to be the spokespersons for the Leather program of the Outgames with pride and enthusiasm. » — Bohdan Ladashevska
