Pedro Veral – Mr. Bear International 2006 |
Born in Barcelona, Pedro Veral is the third of four siblings in a family of mostly girls. Intending to study medicine after high school, his life drastically changed course when he entered modeling school instead. His long-standing aspirations to discover the world of television were finally realized. His artistic career began in 1986 when, at the age of 18, he shared his time between the catwalk, publicity work and school. He left his studies a year and a half later because of his extensive work-related travel schedule. Under the guidance of Monserrat Gimeno, he appeared in his first short film at the age of 20.
He continued his modeling career in both Spain and abroad, focusing on the European market. After his collaboration in a TV series with Spain’s TV3, he moved to Madrid to participate in the television show, Inocente Inocente, with actress Beatriz Rico and singer Enrique del Pozo. From 1996 to 2001, he put his career on hiatus for personal reasons. This time away allowed him to see the industry from an outside perspective and to decide upon the direction of his career.
Encouraged by Ana Victoria Ubeda of Onda Cero radio in Zaragoza, Veral returned to the world of television and radio in October 2001. He then pursued his career as a scriptwriter by working for Gestmusic in the Academia de Artistas and Operacion Triunfo shows. He presented Mister Zaragoza in 2002, Gay Pride Madrid 2004, the Torremolinos Freedom Festival 2004 and La Prohibida among others. He has collaborated for over ten years in the struggle against HIV/AIDS, by offering psychological assistant HIV positive people. On 19 February 2006 he was awarded the title of Mr. Bear International 2006 in San Francisco, which for the first time was awarded to a Spaniard.

DJ Blufish – Big and Phat! |
Also known as Robert Kenny, BluFish has a lengthy history in the underground house music scene far and wide. An eighty’s child raised in an era of experimental electronic sentiment and feeling, Rob learned much as an active participant in an emerging scene very few tuned in to back in the day. Even fewer were the true aficionados of a sound and a scene underground even by gay standards. At the time it was restricted to a “type” or “look” and was in peril of losing itself in exclusivity.
Not surprisingly, this anomaly for which no one would have predicted longevity has not only lasted but thrived. Beyond the walls of dark nightclubs and euro discos, house music has become a staple of fickle and demanding sound junkies and the rhythm elite. It was not enough for house to stay put and bury itself. As each new producer and dj threw in his two cents, the changes that were brought forth were also reflected in the scene. Understanding that luscious tribal and percussive elements create an electrically charged masculine atmosphere, it was only a matter of time before the big and hairy would move out of the dark corners of nightclubs and reclaim the dance floor.
Having spent his formative years cutting his teeth in clubs like Business-Montreal, Warsaw-Miami, Sound Factory- NYC and of course Twilight Zone-Toronto, Rob brings his flavor of underground tribal and progressive house with original composition to new heights at every appearance.
In a history of playing and listening in clubs worldwide, BluFish has honed his craft molded by masculine chugging simple rhythm. What is this world of BluFish. It is a place where big boys come to let go and rise uplifted by sound and emotion awash in a sea of mesomorphic bliss.

Venture from your den to Bain Mathieu!
Constructed between 1883 and 1933, the purpose of Montréal’s public baths was to improve the hygiene of residents and thereby reduce the spread of epidemics that threatened large cities. There were twenty-three in all.
The Bain Mathieu was constructed in 1931. It became an abandoned building in 1990 and remained so for 10 years. It was given over to the Société pour Promouvoir les Arts Gigantesques (SPAG) – (Socieity for the Promotion of Gigantic Art), who renovated the site and transformed it onto a multifunctional space for various artistic endeavours.
The Bain Mathieu hosts a diverse array of events, including social dances (with DJ or orchestra), various types of performances, conferences, and even dinner banquets. The space also provides workshop space for different artists and is ideal for art expositions, theatre, fashion shows, book launches, disk launches, photo shoots and much more.
Located at 2915 Ontario Street East, this is an original and historical space for as many types of activities as there are personalized events.
During the accreditation, participants from Canada will be required to show government-issued identification with a photo. For athletes from all other countries, a passport will be the preferred form of identification. Furthermore, every participant will be required to provide his or her participant number.
