Triathlon competitions will welcome a maximum
of 750 participants and will be held over the
course of a single day. The competition will include
two distances: Olympic and Sprint. The course
will use the Gilles-Villeneuve Formula 1 circuit
in Parc Jean-Drapeau.Men and women will compete
in separate divisions and have different starts.
Individual and team events are also planned.

Athletes must present themselves with their bicycle at the registration tent on the competition site on 2 August between the hours of 13:00 and 14:30 or 18:30 and 20:00 in order to receive their participant package. Bicycles will be stored in a secure area until the start of the competition. An obligatory information session will be held after registration periods.
This event will be sanctioned by Triathlon
Québec.
This event is included in the Triathlon Québec event calendar.
Participants must be members of the recognised federation in their country of origin. Non-members must purchase a temporary license from Triathlon Québec at accreditation for a fee of $12 CAD.

The rules of the International
Triathlon Union.
Athletes must be familiar with course and follow it
correctly.
It is obligatory to wear the bathing cap provided.
Athletes must all wear running shoes during the running part.
It is not permitted to wear a wetsuit if the water temperature exceeds 22° Celsius, which is the normal water temperature during the month of August.
Athletes must continue to wear their swimming gear until attaining their position in the next segment of the competition.
Absolutely no outside assistance is allowed.
Headphones, portable sound equipment and other electronic devices are not permitted.
Cycling helmets must be buckled before touching the bicycle and must remain buckled until the bicycle has been returned to its place following the cycling section of the competition.
Drafting is not permitted. A distance of 5 metres behind and 2 metres on each side constitutes the drafting zone and must be respected by all cyclists. Athletes may enter the drafting zone for a maximum of 15 seconds in order to pass another competitor.
Running with a bare torso is not permitted.
Numbers must be worn on the front during the running race (refer to the Triathlon Québec web site (document available in French only).

respective age groupsas determined by their age on 31 December 2006:

up to the oldest participant registered.
Participants' ages will be determined by their

During the accreditation, participants from Canada will be required to show government-issued identification with a photo. For athletes from all other countries, a passport will be the preferred form of identification. Furthermore, every participant will be required to provide his or her participant number.

Every participant in the 1st World Outgames Montréal 2006 will receive a participation medal. In recognition of personal achievement in Triathlon, medals will be awarded for first, second and third place in each of the categories listed above. Medals will be awarded at the end of the Triathlon at the competition site.

From the Jean-Drapeau metro station (yellow line), follow the directions towards the Parc Jean-Drapeau. Cross the Cosmos Bridge and turn left towards the Olympic Basin.
Note: As restrictions with regards to bicycles apply in the metro, participants are encouraged to travel to the site via the cycling paths as indicated on the Montréal cycling network maps.
The triathlon will take place at the Olympic Basin, the Gilles-Villeneuve Formula 1 Circuit and the the path that runs along side the Saint Lawrence River.

In partnership with the Fédération québécoise des massothérapeutes and Kinatex Sport Physio, the 1st World Outgames is pleased to offer physio and massotherapy services in the following locations:

These services will also be available to volunteers and spectators at special rates.
