IAAF rules will
be used, as well as those of World Masters Athletics.
The maximum spike length allowed
is 7mm for track events and 9mm for field events.
The 1st World Outgames endorses a healthy and fair approach to sports training and competition. Sport events in the 1st World Outgames are sanctioned by provincial, national, and in some cases, international sports governing bodies. In order to adhere to the rules of these sporting federations and to guarantee that the Outgames are run in a fair and just manner, GLISA and the Outgames have adopted the policy as set by the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES), and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
Consequently, all athletes competing in the 1st World Outgames must adhere to GLISA’s position on drugs in sport and may be required to undergo drug-testing. We encourage all participants to become familiar with this policy.
The objective of the 1st World Outgames in this regard is to provide an experience where all athletes are able to compete in a safe and welcoming environment, without discrimination of any kind. Our priority is to find the appropriate balance to ensure that no person, regardless of their birth gender, is disadvantaged in athletic competition and at the same time that no person participating in the Outgames experiences discrimination.
GLISA and the 1st World
Outgames have collaborated so as to develop a
policy that reflects this balance. We encourage
all participants, especially those who have identified
themselves as ‘transgender’ in the registration process, to become familiar with this policy.
Participants' age will be determined by their age on 31 December 2006, as follows:
The information of your best performance between June 1st 2005 and April 31st is mandatory upon registration for the following events: 800m, 1500m, 5000m, high jump and pole vault.
The different events will start in waves based on each athlete’s best time. In case of NoTime, the athletes will start in the slower waves. For the fields’ events, the best performances will help the organising committee to fix the starting height and its progression during the competition.
Participants may register for a maximum of five (5) events including the relays.
The Call Room:
Participants must present themselves at the designated location on the site no later than two hours before the scheduled time of each event at the designated (see the Technical Information Center on the competition site).
No changes to registrations will be permitted after the registration deadline.
Qualifying heats will be staged according to the number of registrations in each age category. The best times and positions in the 100m, 200m, and 400m events will advance to the semi-finals. Depending upon the number of registrations in certain age categories, the semi-finals may be cancelled (as per IAAF regulations).
Depending upon the number of registrations in each age category, some categories will be regrouped together. Competition results, however, will remain separated by age category.
Ranking in other events will be determined by the best
results (time and distance). Qualifying heats will
be grouped together.
Weighing and Implement of the Weights :
The weight of personal implements will take place during
fixed hours, on the day before the competition from
15:00 to 17:00.
