The Organising Committee of the 1st World Outgames Montréal 2006 is pleased to present the third of three fundraising events for the benefit of the development of gay sport: Rendez-Vous - Gold Edition. This spectacular event will be held over the Labour Day Weekend, from 1 to 4 September 2005. Activities are organised in collaboration with Fondation Émergence, the Chambre de commerce gaie du Québec (Québec Gay Chamber of Commerce), Équipe Montréal (the association of Montréal-area gay and lesbian sport teams), la Société de développement commercial du Village (Village Commercial Development Association) and the Borough of Ville-Marie.

The goal of this fundraising event is to promote and support Équipe Montréal as well as gay sport in general. The funds collected went toward the development of gay Québec sport teams that will be participating in the 1st World Outgames, allowing athletes from economically, socially or legally disadvantaged countries to participate in the 1st World Outgames.

The benefit activities offered, which include the Nuit d'Or gala evening on Thursday, 1 September, Femmes en tête on Friday, 2 September and the "Rendez-Vous in the Village", on Saturday, 3 September and Sunday, 4 September, provide an outstanding opportunity for everyone to find out more about the Outgames.

The Village will be in festive form with sport presentations, demonstrations and tournaments right on Sainte-Catherine Street and terraces will be set up on the street just for the occasion. It is a unique programme of activities - truly a Rendez-Vous not to be missed!
