The Organising Committee of the 1st World Outgames Montréal 2006 was pleased to present the second of three fundraising events for the benefit of the development of gay sport: Rendez-Vous - Silver Edition. This spectacular event was held over the Labour Day Weekend, from 2 to 5 September 2004. Activities were organised in partnership with the Association of Village Merchants and Professionals (ACPV), Équipe Montréal (the association of Montréal-area gay and lesbian sport teams) and the Québec Gay Chamber of Commerce (CCGQ), the Confédération des syndicats nationaux, the Centrale des syndicats du Québec and the Fédération des travailleurs du Québec.

The goal of this fundraising event was to promote and support Équipe Montréal as well as gay sport in general. The funds collected went toward the development of gay Québec sport teams that will be participating in the 1st World Outgames, allowing athletes from economically, socially or legally disadvantaged countries to participate in the 1
st World Outgames.

The benefit activities offered, which included the Nuit d'Argent gala evening on Thursday, 2 September, Femmes en tête on Friday, 3 September and the "Rendez-Vous in the Village", on Saturday, 4 September and Sunday, 5 September, provided an outstanding opportunity for everyone to find out more about the Outgames.

The Village was in festive form with sport presentations, demonstrations and tournaments right on Sainte-Catherine Street and terraces were set up on the street just for the occasion. It was a unique programme of activities - truly a Rendez-Vous not to be missed!
