The Village will once again be in a festive
mood, offering a preview of the 1st World
Outgames Montréal 2006 with "Rendez-Vous
in the Village". Sainte-Catherine Street
will be transformed into a vast playing
field, animated by Équipe Montréal and
several of its sports teams.
The general
public will be invited to participate
in demonstration sports such as beach
volleyball, bridge, billiards, soccer,
hockey, wrestling, figure skating, basketball,
badminton, dancesport (competitive ballroom
dancing), aerobics and swimming.
Many shops, bars and
restaurants in the Village will host special
activities and promotional events and
many terraces will be set up on the street
just for this exciting event.
The closing cocktail of
the Rendez-Vous dans le Village,
courtesy of the QUébec Gay Chamber
of Commerce, where the medals will be
given to the tournaments participants,
