Over 25,000
people made good use of the warm and beautiful
weather to visit the Village this past weekend
for the Rendez-Vous dans le Village, as
part of the Rendez-Vous de Bronze, of the
organization's Labour Day Weekend fund raising
event. Sainte-Catherine Street, from Amherst
to Cartier, was closed to traffic for the
occasion and turned into a vast playground
where the general public was invited to
participate in demonstration sports such
as aerobics, beach volleyball, badminton,
wrestling and billiard. Shops, bars and
restaurants in the Village hosted special
activities and promotional events.
