2006: A Special Registration Week for Belgium
Montréal, 2 May 2005
— “From 7 to 15 May 2005, residents
of Belgium will benefit from a series of special
registration offers for the 1st
World Outgames Montréal 2006,” Ms.
Louise Roy, CEO of Montréal 2006, announced
today. “With the collaboration of LGBT sports
teams in Belgium and numerous rights organizations,
along with the support of the Délégation
générale du Québec in Brussels,
we are sure to have an extraordinary presence
in Belgium, starting with the Belgian
Lesbian and Gay Pride celebrations on 7 May.”
Brussels
Gay Sports (BGS) and Active
Company, the two main gay sport associations
in Belgium have become active partners of the
1st World Outgames
Montréal 2006. In collaboration with these
two associations, Montréal 2006 will have
an information and registration booth on Saturday,
7 May, on rue des Carmes (near the Grand Place)
in Brussels.
“We are also very pleased
to enjoy the support of our Belgian media partners,
CIEL
FM, Gus
Magazine and La
Lucarne,” continued Ms. Roy, “and
the collaboration of la Maison
Arc-en-ciel. In addition, Montréal
2006 is pleased to have the great support of the
Fédération
Arc-en-ciel of Belgium. This organism, which
allies culture and sport, will be hosting a reception
on 6 May in Brussels.”
The Délégation générale
du Québec will be offering a VIP cocktail
in honour of Montréal 2006 on Friday, 6
May at the end of the day.
Register now! There’s never
been a better time!
Montréal 2006 has already
received more than thirty Belgian registrations
for the 1st World Outgames—which, with 15
months to go before the event, bodes well for
a large delegation from Belgium—but the
potential for Belgian participation is much greater.
From 7 to 15 May, residents of Belgium
who register for the Outgames online (www.montreal2006.info)
or at our booth in Brussels on 7 May 2005 will
receive a 10% discount on the registration fee.
The registration fee includes participation in
the Opening Ceremony at the Olympic Stadium, which
will be broadcast on Canada’s national television
network. As well, all registrants receive a free
bus/Métro pass to make it easy to get out
and about Montréal during the week of the
Outgames. Those who drop by the Montréal
2006 booth on 7 May will also have the opportunity
to book their flights to Montréal at special
prices with Dakota
Voyages, Montréal 2006’s Official
Travel Partner for Belgium and France. Athletes
who register through BGS or Active Company will
enjoy additional benefits.
Montréal 2006 now has more
than 4,000 registered from 82 countries around
the world, which according to forecasts, will
ensure a total participation of 16,000 registrants,
not to mention the 250,000 visitors expected.
The 1st World Outgames
Montréal 2006 is well on its way to being
the largest LGBT event ever held.
