The 1st World
Outgames, in collaboration
with the BBCM Foundation, unveil the official
parties programme:
Mind, Body & Soul

2006 – The 1st
World Outgames Montréal 2006, in collaboration
with the BBCM
Foundation (Bad Boy Club Montréal),
today unveiled the programme of official
Outgames parties. “With these three
parties, and the Outgames programme of 35 sports,
six cultural activities and an International Conference
on LGBT Human Rights, not to mention Opening and
Closing Ceremonies, Montréal’s Pride
festival celebrations plus the BBCM’s Twist
Weekend, Montréal will be the world’s
top gay and lesbian destination this summer,”
said Ms. Louise Roy, CEO of the 1st
World Outgames.
 To
offer Outgames participants and visitors a top-quality
party programme, Montréal 2006 is working
in close partnership with the BBCM who, for the
past 15 years, has organised the Black &
Blue Festival, one of the best and biggest events
of its type on the planet, which has gained a
solid reputation world-wide. Each of the three
parties will be organised according to a theme
within the concept “Mind, Body and Soul”
and more than 20,000 people are expected to attend.
VIP passes are already on sale for the parties,
which are sure to be an exciting part of an action-packed
week of sizzling events.
“The BBCM Foundation is proud
to have been chosen to organise the parties for
the very first World Outgames in Montréal
this summer. The BBCM team will put its extensive
experience in organising large-scale international
events into action to create three unforgettable
events for the Outgames,” said Mr. Robert

Welcome Gala – Friday,
28 July 2006
“MIND” - VIP LAUNCH GALA
The Welcome Gala, “Mind”, will be
held on Friday, 28 July, at Metropolis, one of
the hottest venues in Montréal, and one
that offers almost limitless possibilities artistically
and technically. For this launch party, the BBCM
will welcome, among others, official representatives
of Montréal 2006, representatives of different
levels of government, as well as numerous athletes
registered for the Outgames for a special VIP
cocktail dînatoire at the beginning of the
evening. The festivities will then continue until
3:00 to celebrate the opening of the 1st
World Outgames and welcome participants and visitors.
The Gala is also open to Montrealers who are not
registered for the Outgames and is expected to
draw more than 2,000 revellers.
Opening Party
– Saturday, 29 July 2006
“BODY” – OPENING PARTY
Also at Metropolis, the Opening Party, “Body”,
will be held on Saturday, 29 July, for the entire
night. This event will be, without a doubt, THE
gay party of the first weekend of the Outgames.
The hottest international DJs on the gay scene
will be heating up this midsummer night, along
with lots of other entertainment. More than 2,000
people will be part of what is sure to be an unforgettable
evening.

“SOUL” at the Palais des congrès,
Montréal’s world-class convention
centre
The BBCM is known mainly for its large-scale events
like the Black & Blue party. During the 1st
World Outgames, this team of experts will be putting
their experience and creativity to work to create
a spectacular event at the Palais des congrès,
starting on Friday evening, 4 August, and running
until 10:00 the next morning. The party will close
the Outgames with a bang in a festive atmosphere
of friendship, inclusion and respect, and is sure
to further enhance the BBCM’s worldwide
reputation as master party and festival organisers
with internationally renowned DJs, large-scale
interactive shows, breathtaking installations,
high-tech sound and lighting and unparalleled
logistical organisation. Artistic direction for
the Closing Party will be in the capable hands
of Mr. Denis Brossard, artistic director of several
previous editions of the Black & Blue (1995
to 2002). More than 15,000 people are expected
for this massive party!

2006: A Profile
The 1st World Outgames Montréal
2006 Organising Committee is a not-for-profit
organisation. The Outgames will be the
largest LGBT event ever held, with more
than 16,000 registered participants and
almost 250,000 visitors. The sport, cultural
and Conference programmes will be held
from 26 July to 5 August 2006. Thirty-five
sports disciplines will be represented
during seven days of competitions. Participants
from around the world and from over 120
different countries are expected. Opening
and Closing Ceremonies will cap off the
sports competitions, which are open to
all, plus three official parties organised
by BBCM, creators of the famous Black
& Blue annual dance parties. An international
rendez-vous not to be missed!
For the first time in the
history of LGBT sport, the 1st World Outgames
will be televised during prime time on
Radio-Canada, Canada’s national
public broadcaster. International sponsors
for the 1st World Outgames include the
