OVERVIEW
Powerlifting competitions will be held on one days. Participants with physical disabilities will be able to register for this event.

• Saturday 29 July 2006 (for the weigh-in)
• Sunday 30 July 2006

SANCTIONED BY
This event is not sanctioned. Results will be approved by the Outgames organising committee.

AFFILIATION
No affiliation is required for this discipline.

DRUG TESTING
Participants in Powerlifting competitions may be asked to submit to drug testing. Any such testing would be administered in accordance with the rules and policies of the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sports (CCES), the approved agency in Canada for testing and analysis.

The Centre's website (www.cces.ca) provides complete information on testing, banned substances, and on athletes' rights and responsibilities. The site also provides many free publications for athletes, including: Doping Control Procedures - The Athlete’s Guide, Drug Classification Booklet, A Guide to Drug-Free Sport, and Medications Guide Wallet.

For a complete list of banned substances and the process for the therapeutics exemptions (asthma, HIV, transgender, etc.), please visit the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

RULES
This event will take place under the 1
st Outgames organising committee rules.

SCORES and NOTATION 
Scores will be based upon the three lifts and calculated for each participant, according Schwartz formula for men and Malone formula for women The International Powerlifthing Federation (IFP) web site has completed technical information.

Athletes may register in only one of the following divisions :

Junior Men
18 to 29 years old, inclusively
Junior Women
18 to 29 years old, inclusively
Open Men
30 to 39 years old and over
Open Women
30 to 39 years old and over
Master 1 Men
40 to 49 years old, inclusively
Master 1 Women
40 to 49 years old, inclusively
Master 2 Men
50 years old and over
Master 2 Women
50 years old and over
Male athletes with physical disabilities
Female athletes with physical disabilities
