Powerlifting competitions will be held on one days. Participants with physical disabilities will be able to register for this event.

Participants in Powerlifting competitions may be asked to submit to drug testing. Any such testing would be administered in accordance with the rules and policies of the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sports (CCES), the approved agency in Canada for testing and analysis.
The Centre's website (www.cces.ca) provides complete information on testing, banned substances, and on athletes' rights and responsibilities. The site also provides many free publications for athletes, including: Doping Control Procedures - The Athlete’s Guide, Drug Classification Booklet, A Guide to Drug-Free Sport, and Medications Guide Wallet.
For a complete list of banned substances and the process for the therapeutics exemptions (asthma, HIV, transgender, etc.), please visit the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

Scores will be based upon the three lifts and calculated for each participant, according Schwartz formula for men and Malone formula for women The International Powerlifthing Federation (IFP) web site has completed technical information.
Competitions will be held on Sunday 30 July 2006. Athletes, coaches and assitants will sign in on the afternoon of Saturday 29 July 2006 after which a technical information session will be held.
The three lifts to be performed are:
- Squat
- Bench Press
- Deadlift

During the accreditation, participants from Canada will be required to show government-issued identification with a photo. For athletes from all other countries, a passport will be the preferred form of identification. Furthermore, every participant will be required to provide his or her participant number.

Every participant in at the 1st World Outgames Montréal 2006 event will receive a participation medal. In recognition of personal achievement in powerlifting, there will also be medals awarded for first, second and third place in each of the divisions listed above. We will also give a first, second and third place best over all for men, women and athletes with physical disabilities categories.

These services will be available to volunteers and spectators at special rates.
