The Sport and Cultural Outreach
Programme has been defined in accordance with
Canadian Law as determined by the Canadian Charter
of Rights. In compliance with the Charter, the
Outreach Programme has no restrictions with regard
to sexual orientation, gender, race, religion,
ethnicity, physical challenge, political beliefs,
physical ability, athletic/artistic skills or
HIV/ health status.
The Bursary Programme is planning
to award 250 bursaries for housing and registration
in sports and culture.

We offer financial support in the
following areas:
A. Accommodation (Hosted housing)
B. Registration fees (Sport or Culture)
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
- Any individual who is at least
18 years of age as of 29 July 2006 and requires
financial assistance to attend the 1st World
Outgames Montreal 2006 is eligible. This applies
to any participant in the Sport or Cultural
Programme of activities of the Outgames.
- 50% of the programme will be
reserved for women.
- Applicants residing in
locations other than Canada, the United States,
Western Europe, Israel, Japan, Australia and
New Zealand will be favoured.
HOW
TO APPLY?
- Applicants must register
online for the Outgames before completing
the Outreach Form. Please choose your
activity (Sport, Culture or Conference)
and DO NOT COMPLETE YOUR PAYMENT.
- Applicants must
complete the OUTREACH PROGRAMME APPLICATION
FORM.
The Application Form can be completed
two different ways:

RULES
- Should any part of the submitted
application form be incomplete or should the
information contained therein be false, the
applicant’s request will automatically
be rejected.
- The Application Form must be
received no later than 1 February 2005 at midnight
Eastern Standard Time to be valid.
- The Bursary Selection Committee
is made up of 1 representative from GLISA, 1
representative from the Outgames, 1 representative
from Équipe Montréal.
- All decisions of the Bursary
Selection Committee are final and are not subject
to appeal.
- Applicants that have been selected
will immediately be notified.
- All applicants must have, at
the time of submitting their applications, a
valid passport for entry into Canada during
the period of the Outgames.
- Applicants that will require
a visa to travel to Canada should send for their
visa application as soon as possible. More information
from the Government
of Canada.
- All recipients of bursaries
will be considered registered unless denied
a Canadian Visa (if applicable).
- All information submitted will
be kept confidential.
- Bursaries are not transferable
to another person.
- Bursaries are not redeemable
in cash.
- Bursaries will be deemed null
and void in the event that the participant cancels
their registration for the Outgames.
- Participants may apply for one
or both of the bursary categories: Accommodation
(hosted housing) and Registration fees.
- Travel expenses (airfare) are
not included in the bursary programme.
- Daily expenses are not included
in the bursary programme.
- Accommodation expenses are limited
to hosted housing only.
- Hosted housing is limited to
a maximum of 11 nights only.
- Registration fees are limited
to the regular registration fee of $295 CAD.
- Additional expenses, are the
sole responsibility of the participant.
- All participants on a Sports
and Cultural Bursary will receive same privileges
and treatment as all other paid registrants
for the sport and cultural programme.
SELECTION PROCESS
After the deadline for applications,
the Bursary Selection Committee will review all
requests. Applicants who are selected will be
contacted within the 3 weeks following the submission
deadline date of 1 February 2006. The selected
applicants must provide proof that they are able
to travel to Canada before the full benefits of
the bursary will be awarded. Should a VISA be
required, the applicant must provide proof that
she or he is allowed entry into Canada, according
to Canada’s rules and regulations. If needed,
selected applicants will receive a letter of invitation
from the 1st World
Outgames Montréal 2006 Organizing Committee.
