OVERVIEW
Dancesport competitions will take place over four days, followed by a Grand Ball. The competition will be open to dancers of all ages and all levels, and to wheelchair participants.

RULES
Rules of Equality Dance will be used for same-gender competitions.

AFFILIATION | MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
There are no affiliation or membership requirements for this event

COMPETITION FORMAT
The dance styles represented will be:

• Standard style
• Latin American style
• 10-Dance Championships

* Dancers will be permitted to have a different partner in Standard and Latin American dances, except for the 10-Dance Championships.

Male, female and mixed couples will compete in different events. Should the number of registered participants be insufficient, the organisers reserve the right to group different levels and age categories into the same event.

Levels
Participants in each category must choose their level (A, B, C, D). A classification event will be held on the first day of the event to confirm that participants have selected the correct levels. Since certain couples may be moved to another level, participants are asked to prepare the dances required in the level above the one they have chosen.

ACCREDITATION
During the accreditation, participants from Canada will be required to show government-issued identification with a photo. For athletes from all other countries, a passport will be the preferred form of identification. Furthermore, every participant will be required to provide his or her participant number.

MEDALS
Every participant in the 1st World Outgames Montréal 2006 will receive a participation medal. In recognition of personal achievement, there will also be medals awarded for first, second and third place in each of the divisions listed above.
