used in competitions. The FISA Rule Book is available here.

of 1,000 metres. The Organising Committee reserves

scheduled too close together.

Notes
The rowing basin will be officially open for training purposes as of Thursday, July 27th until Saturday, July 29th (8:00 to 20:00 ). During this time, training will be supervised by security boats and medical services will be available on-site. We ask you to be cautious when approaching the 1,000 metre start area.
The basin will not be available for training
during the competition days of 30 and 31 July. However,
it is possible to train on the water after the final
race of the day on 30 July, depending upon the competition
schedule. Please note that boats are not allowed on the
water after 8:00.
Boat Rental
Boat rental during the 1st World
Outgames will be organised by the Montréal Rowing
Club (MRC).
Visit the website of the Montréal
Rowing Club for information about rental procedures
and fill out the on-line

The Montréal Rowing Club can
also be contacted via e-mail at rental@avironmontreal.com.
For traffic rules during competition, Refer to map outlining water traffic rules.
Warm up and Cool Down
Warm ups and cool downs can be done in the Warm Up/Cool Down Centre located near the boat hangars. Ergometers will be available to participants. Cool downs on the water will not be permitted.
Embarkation and Disembarkation
Teams must use specific docks for embarking and disembarking as designated on the map of Water Traffic rules.
Boats may be put in the water 30 minutes before the scheduled start of the race.
Pre-start (at 800 metres)
For the regatta,
teams must be present in the pre-start area at least
8 minutes before the scheduled start of their race. Teams
that are late to arrive in the pre-start area will not
be allowed to participate in the race.
Crew Changes (Rule 50)
Captains may substitute
up to one half of their registered crew (excluding the
coxswain) provided that they communicate the crew change
in writing to the Organising Committee at least 1 hour
before the first heat of the event.
Withdrawal (Rule 49)
Withdrawals must be communicated in writing to the Organising
Committee at least 1 hour before the first heat of
the event. Once declared, the withdrawal is irrevocable.

Teams will be called by event to the loading docks. Bow numbers will be available at the Control Commission office at least 45 minutes before the scheduled start of the race in question. After the race, numbers will be collected by members of the Control Commission.
Course monitoring
During training, coaches may follow their teams by bicycle along the course; however, each cyclist is responsible for his or her own safety and security and must respect pedestrians.
For security reasons, it is forbidden to follow the race by bicycle during the competition.
Boat Trailers

boats must be placed in their assigned locations.
Once empty, trailers must be parked in a designated
area. All trailers must vacate the site by 22:00

The assignment of boat locations is the responsibility
of the Organising Committee. Captains must contact
the Boat Park Coordinator upon arrival at which time
detailed information will be provided.
Parking
Vehicle access to parc Jean-Drapeau on the Island of
Notre-Dame will be limited and controlled as a result
of the numerous activities scheduled at this venue.
