Do I need
to register for the competitions to take part
in the recreational dance, workshops and exhibition
dance?
No, registered dancers can participate in the
recreational dance, exhibition dance and workshops
throughout the 6 days of the Country Western events
without competing. However, the registered dancers
will be allowed to attend the competition during
the 3 days at the Hilton Bonaventure Hotel.
Do I need
any special outfits/clothing?
The answer to this is partly NO and partly YES.
There is no specific Country Western dance attire
to be concerned about. However, most of the dancers
are dressed in western garb.
Are there
going to be special events during the Country
Western dancing at the OutGames?
YES! Of course! It wouldn't be gay Country Western
dancing without something special! Watch this
page for details about introductory dances to
be held during the OutGames at the Bolo Club.
From August 2 to 4 2006, after the competitions,
there will be special Boxer Shorts and Bras night
and a Masquerade Ball night as well as a treasure
hunt on the last day.
Do I need
a partner? Do I need to register as part of a
team/club?
The answer to both questions is No. You can register
for the Country Western events individually and
take part in the individual competitions, recreational
dance and workshops. However, couples and teams
are invited to register for the competitions and/or
for the exhibition dance.
When will
the Country Western competition be held?
It will be held on Sunday 30 July 2006 for the
Individual competition; on Monday 31 July 2006
for the couples competition; and on Tuesday 1
August 2006 for the teams competition.
When will
the Recreational dance be held?
It will be held from Sunday 30 July to Friday
4 August 2006.
Where will
the competition take place?
The competitions will take place at the Hilton
Bonaventure Hotel of Montréal.
What rules
will be used in the Country Western Dance competitions?
The rules of the International Association of
Gay and Lesbian Country Western Dance Clubs (IAGLCWDC).
What level
of dancers can take part in the competition?
All level of dancers, from Novice to Advanced,
are invited to register for the competitions.
How will
the medals be awarded?
Every participant in the 1st
World Outgames Montréal 2006 will receive a participation
medal. In recognition of personal achievement,
medals will e awarded for first, second and third
place in each of the categories.
Can I participate in
more than one sport and/or cultural activities
during the 1st World Outgames?
Registration of participants is limited to a maxim
mod 3 sports and/or culture activities. It is
the participant responsibility to make sure there
is no schedule conflict within the different activities
he registered for.
