Does my
chorus have to compete to take part in the chorus
festival?
No, registered choruses can perform at the chorus
festival without competing.
Do I have
to register as part of a chorus?
No, individual singers can register to take part
of the Mass Chorus, which will bring together
individual registrants for one spectacular show.
For this event in particular, practice space will
be reserved for Mass Chorus singers to practice
together and prepare.
When will
the chorus festival and competitions be held?
It will be held from Sunday, 29 July to Saturday,
5 August 2006.
Where will
the chorus festival and competitions take place?
The festival and competitions will take place
at the
Place des Arts of Montréal, the largest,
most prestigious and unique multi-purpose cultural
complex in Canada.
How will
the medals be awarded?
Every participant in the 1st
World Outgames Montréal 2006 will receive a participation
medal. In recognition of personal achievement,
medals will e awarded for first, second and third
place in each of the categories.
What is
the competition format?
The competition is divided in 3 categories:
- Small ensemble: 12 singers or
less
- Ensemble: Between 13 an 40 singers
- Chorus: More than 40 singers
Registration entitles you to a 30
minutes performance slot. Choruses can sing A
capella or accompanied by musicians or recorded
tracks.
Will my
chorus have the possibility to sign more than
one time?
Yes. Registered choruses will be invited to perform
at our 4 outdoor entertainment centers located
in beautiful venues in Montréal both attended
by the local population and by the registered
athletes and artists.
How will
the jury be composed?
The jury will be composed of:
- 1 member of Gala Choruses
- 1 member of Legato
- 1 member of the Quebec chorus
allience
- 1 member of the Outgame’s
staff
- 1 chorus director (non participant)
- 2 singers (non participants)
Can I participate
in more than one sport and/or cultural activities
during the 1st World Outgames?
Registration of participants is limited to a maxim
mod 3 sports and/or culture activities. It is
the participant responsibility to make sure there
is no schedule conflict within the different activities
he registered for.
